Sensor tech manufacturer Process Sensing Technologies (PST) has released a new cryogenic trap system to ensure ultra-high purity (UHP) helium carrier gas purity for gas chromatographs (GCs).

The new LDCryo is a stand-alone system that – when used with the LDP1000 heated gas purifiers - generates 99.9999999% purity helium which is utilised as a carrier gas in process GCs.

PST’s pressure monitoring LDPMS device complete with purge/bypass valve arrangement is also included in the system.

Configured with VCR and welded gas connections, a 50 litre Dewar casing houses two stainless steel traps mounted in parallel. This arrangement ensures rotation and continuous uninterrupted carrier supply without interruption.

A potential of between 1.4 and 8.9 billion cubic feet of recoverable helium could soon be discovered by Avanti Energy in Northern Montana, US, with the company contracting T&S Drilling for its initial three well drilling programme.

LDetek’s LD8000 MultiGas Analyzer has been selected by a leading manufacturer of lithium-ion batteries to monitor the purity of argon used as a protective atmosphere.

Process Sensing Technologies have released a new ultra-high purity (UHP) gas stream selector system.
